Finding Scholarships

There are a lot of scholarship aggregators out there. Don't pay for these lists as you can find them out there while looking, but some do take time to learn how they work.

Books that I recommend for scholarship purposes:

The Ultimate Scholarship Book by Gen and Kelly Tanabe

How to Win Scholarships Website - I highly recommend Monica's e-book as she explains so much about the scholarship process, how to write good essays, and so much more!

Websites I like for places to find scholarships:

Fast Web is legit! Sign up and build a student profile with their stats / majors of interest / schools / etc.

Big Future / College Board is also a good one. Many of these are national ones, but a few have local ones available. It's worth looking at to see what they have to offer.

Kaleidoscope is a place to find and apply for scholarships. Never pay to apply, but many companies use this as a platform to gather their applications. It is searchable and it's a really good place to join.

ISTS is the International Scholarship & Tuition Services. Some companies have their applications on this site and it's a real site. They do not list scholarships, but you can feel safe creating a profile and filling one out on here.

Scholarships.com is another I highly recommend. Check out the Tennessee ones and the national ones. You won't need to have too many of the aggregators, but it's good to look at a few in case your favorite place missed one that would apply to you.

Howtowinscholarships.com not only has a great book, but her blog has a monthly list of scholarships and if you sign up for her mailing list she'll send them to each each month.

Scholarships360 this is a scholarship aggregator, but a popular one. It's one to consider when looking, but not a main one I'd use.

Unigo is not only a place to enter to win, but a place where some companies may award through. You can create your own profile here if you want customized lists sent to you.

Bold.org is ok. They have some system where you earn points and the more points they say the better chance you have, but honestly both my kids got a lot of points, but only one ever won anything from here. The one that was won was a specific Tennessee only one, so certainly look at it but don't make it your only place at all.

Scholarship Owl is ok, but I paid for a while and there's not too much that you can't find on fastweb. The free version area is fine, but lacks a lot of details.

There are a few types of scholarships that I'd like to explain and talk more about. I will say that I would never suggest you pay to try to win a scholarship!
